Micah Seibert, daughter of Mike Seibert and Rennie O'Dell, was named Jr. Miss Neoga 2009 in Thursday's annual Neoga Days Pageant. The new Jr. Miss was sponsored by Sherman Weaver Photography of Neoga.


Members of her court included Stephanie Roderick, chosen Miss Congeniality by her fellow contestants, and Sidney Thompson, Miss Photogenic, determined by contributions to the People's Choice campaign, which yielded $137.27 toward the scholarship fund. Stephanie, daughter of William and Bridgette Roderick, was sponsored by David Padgett of Marshall Clinic, Neoga. Sidney's sponsor was Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home, Neoga.


The young women were judged on a variety of attributes including poise, balance and grace, facility in answering a pop question, speaking ability and personal interview and presentation in street clothes and a formal gown. Two former queens from beyond the area judged the competition.


The crowning of Jr. Miss Neoga culminated the pageant that also featured the naming of the Baby Contest winner, Keersta Beccue. The Neoga Days Committee added to the funds collected in the baby boxes in order to make a $500 donation to the Neoga Park District. Thursday's pageant also saw the crowning of Little Miss Neoga Contestants: Rylee Peterson, Abbie Becker, Allyssa Jinkins, Amanda Schulte, Chloe Haarman, Audrey Ramert, Keera Beccue, Abigail Dow, Claire Cardinal, Lexus Brewster, Kamdyn Dunn and Shaylee Vondrak.


Each contestant in the Jr. Miss competition received diamond earrings from Weber Brothers Jewelry, hair care products from New Image Family Salon, Avon gift set from Brenda Cameron, pen and mirror from Sherman Weaver S-Signs & T-Shirts, gift certificate from The Depot Restaurant, bracelet from Lesle's House Handmade Jewelry, 20% off from Maurices, gift certificate from Don Sol, pool passes from Lytle Pool, treasure pockets from Sew Happy Hearts, pool passes from Kluthe Memorial Pool and gift bag from Merle Norman.

Micah received her crown from Toledo Democrat. trophy and sash from her sponsor, flowers from Mattoon Flower Shop, magnetic parade sign from Sherman Weaver S-Signs & T-Shirts, Avon products from Laura Coen, hair car product from New Image Family Salon, Subway gift certificate from Neoga EMS Assoc., and gift certificates from Cross County Mall, Villa Pizza, Mattoon, Patty's Cakes & More and Cody's Roadhouse.


The runners-up received trophy from sponsor, flowers from Mattoon Flower Shop, Avon products from Laura Coen, gift certificate from Buffalo Wild Wings, Casey's gift card from Miller Motors and gift certificate from Villa Pizza, Mattoon. Miss Congeniality and Miss Photogenic also received a plaque from sponsor, flowers from Mattoon Flower Shop, Avon products from Laura Coen and a gift certificate from Monical's Pizza, Mattoon.


When Micah enters college, she will receive a Neoga Days pageant scholarship from funds donated by First Neighbor Bank, Sav-Mor Pharmacy, Central Illinois Motorcycle Club, Sigel Equipment Co., Marshall Clinic, Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home, Neoga American Legion, Braden Law Office, and First Mid-Illinois Bank & Trust.
