Birth to Three Program celebrating anniversary Share
The Oblong C.U.B.S. Birth to Three Program is celebrating five years of service to Unit #4 parents this fall. Parent Educator, Darnell Schalasky, has been with the birth to three program since its inception in August, 2004. In previous years, Dana Rich facilitated the Children and Parents Program in Oblong which provided a weekly play group and family nights. The most popular component in the program is still the weekly play group. Play groups are held every Tuesday throughout the school year at the First Christian Church, 206 South Range Street, Oblong, from 9:00 am. to 10:00 am. The play group is open to parents and caregivers with children birth to three years of age who live in the Oblong School District. At play group, parents can spend one on one time with their child without the distractions of home, as well as interact with other parents who have children the same age. Home visits are offered as well to parents. A bi-monthly newsletter is also sent out to enrolled parents, as well as any parent who would like to receive one. The birth to three program also collaborates with the local preschool programs to host monthly family nights. There is something for everyone in the Oblong C.U.B.S. Birth to Three Program. For more information or to sign up for a free newsletter, please contact Darnell Schalasky at 592-4225, ext. 162, or visit us on the web at www.oblongschools.net/cubs.html
