Oldies in the Park  Share
The Oblong Chamber of Commerce and Ridgeview Care Center will be holding their Ninth Annual Oldies in the Park on Saturday, September 26, 2009. A full day of events is ont he schedule this year, beginning with the first annual Oldies in the Park Sand Volleyball Tournament. At 2:00 pm. the Oblong Fire department will be hosting a Emergency Service Expo, with at least 20 different departments from throughout the state scheduled to be on hand with various equipment. A medic chopper is scheduled to arrive at approximately 3:00 pm, and a demonstration involving a rescue rappel from the Oblong water tower has been scheduled. There will also be extractions/demonstrations from 2 different vehicles. A.B.A.T.E. members are also planningon arriving on their motorcycles during the day. There will be inflatable rides for the kids, as well as TONS of free prizes all night. At 6:00 pm. Roger Dee will begin the music portion of Oldies in the Park, followed by the biggest and best fireworks display Oblong has ever had at approximately 9:00.
Beginning at 11:00 am and continuing throughout the day, food will be served by the Evangelical United Methodist Church. Come and join in on the fun and make a day of it!
